What a week!!!! Teacher appreciate capped off with field day! So many people to thank. Thank you to all the field day planners and volunteers!!!! Specifically Jordan Jones, Grae Morris, Shannon Howarth, Mark Embree, and Viktorija Gordon. Without the support of a PE teacher they pulled off our best field day yet.
Thank you to everyone who made our staff feel appreciated and loved this past week, and every week throughout the school year. In a time where public education feels less valued than ever, our community consistently lets us know that it MATTERS, you value and support the Morehead Staff. Special thanks to Amy Wilson, Christine Blaisdell, Gabe Yapuncich and Alex Hurdle for organizing and distributing items throughout the week. Also special thanks to our PTA who always answers the call to support our staff and students.

On May 19th, Morehead will introduce our Morning Walk Club. This will be from 7:15 - 8:00 on the playground track. We will follow a specific schedule so please be sure to check out the details below: |
- Tuesdays & Thursdays - Upper Elementary and Families Only

Wednesdays and Fridays - Lower Elementary Families Only
- Students should put items in the classroom BEFORE coming to the playground
- ALL students will participate. If they do not want to walk they will sit in the outdoor playground and read materials provided by Morehead Staff.

Student should eat breakfast BEFORE coming to the playground
- We encourage families to participate to support with supervision and engagement. The Lakewood gate will be open and families can enter through Lakewood, Shepherd or the main entrance.

Make this year's memories last with the 2025-26 Morehead Montessori yearbook! Grab a copy for the suggested price of $14 in the PTAstore. Order deadline has been extended to Monday, May 11th (we understand that this week has been a little wild!)
Many thanks to the yearbook committee - Kathryn Walder-Christensen, Janie Woodbridge, Alicia Morelli, and Rainbow Teasley for putting together yet another AMAZING keepsake!

We are due for a full body PTA meeting before the end of the school year! Unfortunately, we have to shift from the originally scheduled date of May 15 due to schedule conflicts.
The main order of business will be voting on new officers for the 2026-27 school year. But Principal Tyler Steketee and PTA President Gabe Yapuncich will also be making pancakes while answering hard-hitting questions from the community. We need at least 25 members to stop by, so please come if you are able! Additional details and formal agenda will follow.

The PTA will need energetic and enthusiastic board members next school year! No experience is necessary (trust me, I've got none). This is a volunteer-run organization, so help make the Morehead PTA reflect the values of the community.
