❤️New Year's Gratitude🎉

Congratulations to Ms. Elkerson and Ms. Parker for passing their edTPA licensure tests! You are incredible teachers and you work incredibly hard!

The Morehead PTA was able to cover the cost of these licensure exams thanks to generous donations to the PTA's MeerStart campaign and the Educational Support program (managed by the amazing Sophia Bessias), which covers $300 in educational expenses for every classroom and specials lead teacher at Morehead.

Many, many thanks to the entire Morehead community for this continued support. It's incredible to be able to provide this type of assistance for our wonderful teachers.

Volunteer! Girls on the Run coaches

We’re beginning to plan for the Spring Girls on the Run season and are in need of committed volunteer coaches. Girls on the Run is a confidence-building program for 3rd–5th grade girls that combines physical activity with lessons on teamwork, resilience, and emotional well-being.

Our biggest need is coaches who can alternate leading practice and attend at least one practice per week. Our team practice days will be Mon/Wed or Wed/Fri from 2:30pm-4pm, depending on coach availability. Coach training will take place in January.

Without enough coaches, we may be unable to offer a 2026 season — so your help truly makes a difference for the girls who love and rely on this program.

If you’re interested or have questions, please reach out to the head coach-Emily Moody (egsink@gmail.com). We’d be grateful to have you on the team!
