This Week's Update

Good Evening Families,

I cannot believe we are finishing quarter 1 this week! 

We had so much fun this past week at our first annual Fall Fun Dance! There was lots of laughter, and we learned a lot about ways to make our next dance an even bigger success!

We have a fun schoolwide opportunity happening this week–on Friday, in celebration of Walk to School month, our school will take a short neighborhood walk shortly after morning arrival (8:10AM). This event is for students and staff but we welcome families to cheer as spectators. Look for permission slips to come home on Monday–please make sure to return them ASAP to ensure your child is able to participate.

Fall Beautification Day–join the grounds team for a tidy-up on Sunday, Nov. 2 from 11AM-1PM (time change–now only 2 hours). We will be clearing out and raking up assorted debris and weeding the rain gardens to get the playground ready for GW Movie Night on November 3rd. Neighbors and student helpers (past and present) are always welcome! **If you have a wheelbarrow, cart, or wagon of some kind, they are always useful when hauling things to Urban Ave.

The Watts PTA Annual Fundraiser is in full swing, and we’re aiming to raise $25,000 to support field trips, teacher development, and school events all year long.

Here’s the fun part: if we hit our goal by November 3, students will get the chance to paint teachers’ faces at Movie Night!
